Episode 14 — The Dragon of the Frozen Abyss

The roar echoed again.

LOUDER.

The entire Frozen Pass trembled.

Snow cascaded from towering cliffs.

Ancient ice walls cracked apart.

Even the magical runes surrounding the arena flickered.

The Ice Titan immediately rose to its full height.

Its glowing blue eyes locked onto the northern darkness.

For the first time since Kai met him—

The guardian looked genuinely frightened.

"Leave."

The Titan's voice thundered across the canyon.

"Now."

Commander Vaelor stepped forward.

"What is it?"

The giant remained silent.

Then finally answered.

"The Devourer."

Silence followed.

Every Dragon Rider froze.

Seraphine's expression darkened.

"No..."

One rider whispered nervously.

"I thought it was only a legend."

Then the mountain exploded.

BOOOOOOM!

An entire cliff face collapsed.

A colossal shape burst through ice and stone.

The impact created a shockwave powerful enough to throw riders from their feet.

Kai covered his eyes.

Snow filled the air.

The world disappeared beneath white chaos.

Then the storm cleared.

And everyone saw it.

A dragon.

But unlike any dragon Kai had ever seen.

The creature was enormous.

Far larger than Seraphine's silver dragon.

Far larger than the Void Dragon.

Its body resembled a living glacier.

Black ice armor covered every inch of its body.

Massive frozen spikes protruded from its back.

Ancient chains hung from its neck and wings.

Broken.

Shattered.

As though something had imprisoned it once.

And failed.

Its eyes glowed with cold blue fire.

Not magical.

Not natural.

Something older.

Something primordial.

The dragon slowly opened its mouth.

Rows of crystalline teeth reflected the storm light.

Then it roared.

The sky itself seemed to crack.

Nyrax stepped in front of Kai instantly.

Growling.

The Heart of Winter pulsed inside his chest.

Blue energy flowed through his scales.

The giant dragon noticed immediately.

Its eyes narrowed.

Then something unexpected happened.

The monster stopped.

Stared.

And slowly lowered its head.

Toward Nyrax.

The canyon became silent.

Even the wind seemed to disappear.

The ancient dragon spoke.

Its voice echoed directly inside every mind.

"Kingblood."

Nyrax froze.

The Heart of Winter glowed brighter.

"Impossible."

The ancient dragon stepped closer.

Each movement shook the earth.

"The bloodline survived."

Commander Vaelor whispered:

"The Frost Tyrant..."

Kai turned toward him.

"The what?"

Vaelor swallowed.

"One of the Seven Ancient Dragon Kings."

Everyone stared.

A Dragon King.

A real Dragon King.

Alive.

The Frost Tyrant's massive eyes moved toward Kai.

Then toward the glowing mark on his arm.

Recognition flashed across its ancient face.

"Kael's son."

Kai's heart nearly stopped.

Even this creature knew his father.

Suddenly—

A black arrow flew through the storm.

WHISTLE.

THUNK.

The arrow struck directly into the Frost Tyrant's neck.

Everyone froze.

The Dragon King's eyes widened.

The canyon fell silent.

Then the giant dragon slowly looked upward.

Dozens of dark figures stood upon the cliffs.

Shadow Legion soldiers.

Hundreds of them.

More appeared every second.

Corrupted dragons circled overhead.

Black banners waved through the storm.

At the center stood the Void Dragon.

And beside him...

The Shadow Lord.

For the first time.

Fully visible.

A tall figure wearing black armor forged from living darkness.

Crimson energy flowed through cracks in the armor.

A massive sword rested across his back.

His face remained hidden beneath a hood.

Only glowing red eyes could be seen.

The Shadow Lord smiled.

Slowly.

Calmly.

Confidently.

"At last."

His voice echoed across the mountains.

"I found you."

The Frost Tyrant roared.

The sound shattered nearby ice cliffs.

The Dragon King spread gigantic wings.

Snowstorms erupted instantly.

The Shadow Lord drew his sword.

Black flames covered the blade.

The Void Dragon roared beside him.

Shadow soldiers prepared for battle.

Then the Shadow Lord pointed directly at Kai.

"Bring me the Blood Heir."

And the war for the Crown of Winter began.
