Episode 17 — The Birth of the Void King

The battlefield trembled.
Dark energy exploded from the Void Dragon's body.
Crimson cracks spread across its scales like molten lava.
Its bones twisted.
Its wings expanded.
The monster screamed in agony.
A sound so terrible that even dragons lowered their heads.
Kai gripped Nyrax's scales tightly.
"What is happening?"
The answer came from Aurelion.
The Crystal King stared at the transforming beast.
For the first time—
Concern appeared in his ancient eyes.
"The Void Crown."
The Frost Tyrant immediately growled.
"No..."
Commander Vaelor looked confused.
"What is the Void Crown?"
The Crystal King's voice echoed across the battlefield.
"A forbidden evolution."
"Created during the final days of the Last Dragon War."
"A dragon sacrifices its soul..."
"To become a living weapon."
Silence spread.
Even the Shadow Legion stopped moving.
Then a terrible realization struck Kai.
"They planned this."
Aurelion nodded.
"The Shadow Lord never came here to win."
"He came here to awaken the Void King."
BOOOOOOOOM!
The Void Dragon exploded with darkness.
A sphere of black energy expanded across the canyon.
Mountains shattered.
Ice walls collapsed.
Entire armies were thrown backward.
Nyrax barely remained standing.
The Heart of Winter blazed inside his chest.
Protecting him.
Protecting Kai.
Then the darkness cleared.
Everyone stared.
The Void Dragon was gone.
Something else stood in its place.
A king of nightmares.
Its body had doubled in size.
Black armor-like scales covered its entire form.
Crimson crystal spikes erupted from its back.
Six gigantic wings stretched across the sky.
Thousands of glowing red veins pulsed beneath its scales.
Its eyes no longer resembled a dragon's.
They looked ancient.
Hungry.
Endless.
The creature opened its mouth.
A miniature black sun formed between its jaws.
Reality warped around it.
The sky bent.
The air screamed.
The Frost Tyrant whispered:
"Void King..."
Far below—
The Shadow Lord emerged from the rubble.
Bruised.
Damaged.
Yet smiling.
His plan had succeeded.
"My king awakens."
The Void King roared.
The sound shattered every remaining window of ice across the mountains.
Then something unexpected happened.
The monster ignored everyone.
Ignored the Crystal King.
Ignored the Frost Tyrant.
Ignored the Shadow Lord.
It looked directly at Nyrax.
And smiled.
Kai felt pure terror.
Because dragons weren't supposed to smile.
Not like that.
"Kingblood..."
The voice entered every mind.
"I remember you."
Nyrax froze.
The Heart of Winter pulsed violently.
As if responding.
As if recognizing something.
Aurelion's eyes widened.
"Impossible."
The Crystal King turned toward Kai.
"We were wrong."
"What?"
Kai shouted.
Aurelion's voice became grim.
"The Void King is not new."
"It has existed before."
The battlefield fell silent.
"Before Dragon Kings."
"Before the First Empire."
"Before recorded history."
The Frost Tyrant stared in horror.
"No..."
The Crystal King slowly nodded.
"It is one of the Firstborn."
The words carried ancient fear.
The kind spoken only in legends.
Suddenly—
The Void King launched forward.
BOOOOOOM!
The sky exploded.
Its speed was impossible.
One second it stood miles away.
The next—
It was directly in front of Nyrax.
A claw descended.
Large enough to crush a castle.
Kai couldn't move.
Nyrax couldn't react.
Then—
Aurelion intervened.
CRAAAAASH!
The Crystal King slammed into the Void King.
The impact shattered nearby mountains.
Shockwaves rolled across the frozen continent.
The two ancient titans crashed through the sky.
Claw against claw.
King against king.
Light against darkness.
The world itself seemed too small for their battle.
Meanwhile—
Far beneath the battlefield.
Deep below the ice.
Deep below the ruins.
Something ancient awakened.
A temple.
Forgotten by time.
Hidden beneath the Frozen Pass.
Inside its darkness—
Seven crystal thrones stood in a circle.
Six were empty.
One began glowing.
Then another.
Then another.
Ancient dragon symbols illuminated the chamber.
A forgotten prophecy awakened.

And an old voice echoed through the darkness.
"The Seven Kings shall rise once more."
