Episode 6 — The Sanctuary of Ashes

Lightning split the sky above the frozen fortress.

The gigantic silver dragon descended rapidly through violent storm clouds while wyverns screamed behind them.

Kai held tightly to the dragon’s scales as freezing winds tore across the sky.

Below them—

The Sanctuary emerged from the blizzard like a forgotten kingdom.

Massive black walls stood carved directly into icy mountains.

Ancient dragon statues towered above glowing gates.

Some statues were broken.

Others were covered in claw marks.

The entire fortress felt ancient.

Dead.

But still alive somehow.

“Hold on!”

Seraphine shouted above the storm.

The silver dragon folded its wings and dived sharply toward the fortress.

Behind them—

The gigantic shadow inside the clouds continued moving.

Massive crimson eyes glowed briefly through the storm.

Even the wyverns fled from it.

Nyrax trembled beneath Kai’s cloak.

Fear flowed powerfully through the bond.

Whatever hunted the skies above…

Even dragons feared it.

BOOM.

The silver dragon landed heavily inside the Sanctuary courtyard.

Snow exploded outward across ancient stone.

Massive gates immediately began closing behind them.

Ancient warriors wearing silver dragon armor rushed forward carrying glowing spears.

One of them shouted—

“Seal the upper skies!”

Gigantic chains pulled ancient metal gates across the fortress openings.

The moment the gates closed—

A monstrous roar shook the entire Sanctuary.

Dust fell from nearby towers.

Kai slowly looked upward.

Something enormous moved above the fortress walls.

Then silence returned.

The warriors looked terrified.

Seraphine climbed down from her dragon immediately.

“We don’t have much time.”

Several armored riders approached her quickly.

One older man removed his helmet.

His face was scarred from countless battles.

His gray beard moved slightly in the cold wind.

“You found the child.”

Seraphine nodded once.

“And the hatchling.”

The old rider looked toward Kai and Nyrax.

The moment he saw Nyrax—

His expression changed instantly.

Shock.

Fear.

Recognition.

“That mark…”

Kai frowned.

“What mark?”

The old rider pointed toward Kai’s arm.

Blue glowing veins briefly appeared beneath Kai’s skin.

The same symbol from the cave.

Ancient.

Dragon-shaped.

The warriors nearby immediately stepped backward.

One whispered quietly—

“The Blood Heir…”

Kai’s heart sank again.

“What does that mean?”

Nobody answered immediately.

Finally—

The old rider spoke.

“My name is Commander Vaelor.”

He stared directly into Kai’s eyes.

“Your father once led the Dragon Riders.”

Kai froze completely.

“My father was alive?”

Vaelor’s expression darkened.

“Alive… once.”

The courtyard became silent.

Kai’s hands trembled slightly.

All his life he believed his father vanished into the mountains.

But these people knew him.

Feared him.

Seraphine looked toward Vaelor seriously.

“Nyrax is poisoned.”

Vaelor immediately focused on the dragon.

The newborn dragon struggled to remain standing.

Blue blood still flowed slowly from the dragonbone wound.

Vaelor’s expression hardened.

“Bring them inside.”

The Sanctuary interior looked magnificent despite centuries of decay.

Gigantic dragon skeletons rested between ancient pillars.

Massive stained glass windows depicted dragon riders soaring through burning skies.

Blue fire burned inside enormous braziers along stone walls.

Kai stared at everything in awe.

Nyrax remained close beside him at all times.

The newborn dragon no longer trusted strangers.

Several dragon riders watched them carefully from the shadows.

Not with hatred.

With fear.

Deep inside the fortress—

Vaelor led them into a massive circular chamber.

At the center stood an ancient pool glowing with blue light.

Dragon symbols covered the floor.

Seraphine carefully removed the dragonbone bolt from Nyrax’s shoulder.

The newborn dragon screamed in pain.

Kai immediately grabbed him.

“It’s okay. I’m here.”

Blue energy pulsed between them again.

The glowing pool reacted instantly.

The water began moving by itself.

Vaelor looked disturbed.

“The bond is already evolving…”

Seraphine frowned slightly.

“That’s impossible this early.”

Suddenly—

Nyrax’s wound began glowing violently.

Black smoke rose from the injury.

The poison was spreading.

The dragon cried out again.

Then the chamber lights flickered.

The pool exploded upward.

BOOM.

Blue energy filled the room.

Ancient dragon symbols ignited across the walls.

And then—

A voice echoed throughout the chamber.

Deep.

Ancient.

Monstrous.

“THE HEIR HAS RETURNED.”

Everyone froze.

Even the dragons outside began roaring.

The chamber shook violently.

Vaelor’s face turned pale.

“No…”

Kai looked around in panic.

“Who said that?!”

Then the glowing water inside the pool changed.

A vision appeared.

A colossal black dragon sleeping beneath endless chains deep underground.

Its glowing crimson eyes slowly opened.

And when it spoke—

The entire fortress trembled.

“BRING ME THE BOY.”

The vision exploded instantly.

Silence returned.

Nobody moved.

Then suddenly—

Alarms began ringing throughout the fortress.

LOUD.

VIOLENT.

PANICKED.

One rider burst into the chamber.

“COMMANDER!”

Vaelor turned instantly.

The rider looked terrified.

“The outer walls…”

May you like

His voice trembled.

“…something is climbing them.”
