CHAPTER 1 — PUBLIC HUMILIATION
The cafeteria falls silent.
A young girl stands frozen beside her lunch tray.
Tears stream down her face.
Across from her, a cafeteria worker towers over her with open contempt.
The woman's voice echoes through the room.
Loud.
Cruel.
Humiliating.
Students stop eating.
Phones begin recording.
But nobody intervenes.
Nobody speaks.
Nobody helps.
The girl lowers her head.
Trying not to cry.
Trying not to make things worse.
The worker continues.
Enjoying every second of the power she believes she has.
The entire cafeteria watches.
And the girl slowly shrinks into herself.
Small.
