CHAPTER 3 — THE WEDDING THAT NEVER HAPPENED

The cleaning cloth slipped from her hand.
The ballroom stood motionless.
Waiting.
Watching.
The woman slowly straightened her posture.
The humility vanished.
The authority remained.
For the first time, everyone saw who she truly was.
Her gaze settled on the groom's mother.
Cold.
Unforgiving.
The older woman's confidence disappeared instantly.
"I... I didn't know..."
But it was already too late.
The president spoke calmly.
A calmness far more terrifying than anger.
"This wedding is canceled."
The words struck the room like lightning.
The bride gasped.
Guests froze.
The groom closed his eyes.
He knew the consequences.
The groom's mother stumbled backward.
"No... please..."
Her voice cracked.
Her world collapsed.
Years of arrogance.
Years of privilege.
Destroyed in seconds.
The president turned away without another word.
And as she walked toward the exit, the ballroom remained trapped in silence.
Because everyone had just witnessed a lesson they would never forget.
