CHAPTER 3 — THE WOMEN WHO LOST EVERYTHING

Daniel turned toward the group.
The penthouse was silent.
No music.
No laughter.
No excuses.
Just fear.
His voice was low.
Dangerously low.
"Get out."
The women stared at him.
Confused.
"What?"
"I said get out."
No one moved.
Daniel stepped forward.
"This is my home."
A pause.
"And she is my wife."
The confidence on their faces disappeared.
One by one.
"You humiliated a pregnant woman in her own house."
His voice echoed through the room.
"Leave. Now."
For the first time, nobody argued.
Nobody laughed.
Nobody felt powerful anymore.
The women gathered their bags with shaking hands.
And walked toward the door.
Defeated.
Humiliated.
Forgotten.
When the last guest left, Daniel wrapped his arm around Emily.
She finally allowed herself to cry.
Not from sadness.
From relief.
Because sometimes the final straw isn't the loudest moment.
May you like
It's the moment someone finally says:
"Enough."
