CHAPTER 3: THE REAL OWNER RETURNS

The chairman turned back toward the woman.

His voice echoed through the silent rooftop.

"Miss Hale."

The crowd exploded with whispers.

Victoria's face drained of color.

"No..."

The chairman continued.

"The majority shareholder of Hale Global."

Silence.

Absolute silence.

The champagne glass slipped from Victoria's hand.

CRASH.

It shattered across the marble floor.

Every eye widened.

The chairman spoke again.

"Twenty years ago, Sophia Hale voluntarily stepped away from the company."

Guests stood frozen.

Board members exchanged nervous looks.

"Today she has officially reclaimed her controlling shares."

Victoria stumbled backward.

"No... that's impossible..."

For the first time that night, Sophia smiled.

Not angrily.

Not proudly.

Confidently.

"The company was never yours."

The words hit harder than any slap.

Executives immediately moved to Sophia's side.

Board members followed.

The same people who had ignored her minutes earlier now treated her as the most powerful person in the room.

Victoria watched her empire disappear in real time.

Then Sophia took her son's hand and stepped forward.

"I didn't come here to ask for mercy."

Tears filled Victoria's eyes.

But Sophia's voice remained calm.

Cold.

Final.

"I came to reclaim what belongs to my family."

The rooftop stood motionless.

Diamonds no longer mattered.

Money no longer mattered.

Status no longer mattered.

And for the first time in her life—

Victoria Hale understood what true power looked like.
