CHAPTER 2 — THE KEY CARD

The housekeeper's trembling hand slowly opened.

A hotel key card slipped from her fingers.

Clink.

The small sound somehow silenced the entire corridor.

The card slid across the polished marble floor.

Past expensive shoes.

Past designer handbags.

Past the reflections of curious spectators.

Until it finally stopped.

At someone's feet.

The hotel manager.

He bent down calmly.

Professional.

Unconcerned.

At first.

He picked up the card.

Glanced at the room number.

Routine.

Ordinary.

Then everything changed.

His expression froze.

His fingers tightened around the card.

The atmosphere instantly became heavier.

The wealthy woman crossed her arms.

A smug smile forming.

"Well?"

She waited confidently.

Expecting validation.

Expecting victory.

Expecting the manager to confirm her accusations.

But he didn't answer.

Not a single word.
