The music stopped.

The grand ballroom doors slowly opened.
A man stepped inside.
His posture was perfect.
His presence commanding.
The kind of authority that never needed to announce itself.
Silence followed him.
Guest after guest turned to watch.
He walked forward with purpose.
Ignoring the crowd.
Ignoring the decorations.
Ignoring the event itself.
Then he saw Elena.
And stopped.
For a brief moment, even he appeared emotional.
The room watched in confusion.
Nobody understood what was happening.
The man slowly approached her.
One step.
Then another.
