CHAPTER 3 — PRINCESS ELENA

Nobody moved.

Nobody breathed.

The words hung in the air like a shockwave.

Elena slowly lifted her eyes.

For the first time all evening, she didn't look defeated.

She didn't look small.

She didn't look invisible.

Across the room, Margarita's face drained of color.

Her confidence immediately began to crack.

"What did you say?"

Her voice trembled.

The man turned toward her calmly.

Without hesitation.

Without doubt.

"I said..."

The pause felt endless.

Heavy.

Final.

"...Princess Elena."

Gasps erupted throughout the ballroom.

Whispers exploded in every direction.

Guests stared at Elena in disbelief.

The same woman they had mocked moments earlier.

The same woman they treated like a servant.

The same woman they believed was powerless.

Margarita instinctively stepped backward.

Only one step.

But it was enough.

Enough to reveal fear.

Enough to reveal panic.

Enough to show that everything had changed.

Tears filled Elena's eyes.

Not tears of shame.

Not anymore.

Only quiet strength.

Quiet dignity.

And as the room struggled to process the truth, one realization spread through the crowd.

May you like

The woman they humiliated all night was never beneath them.

They simply never knew who she truly was.
