“Proving what happened does not require giving strangers unrestricted access to your worst months.”

Mara spoke once.
“I received mental-health treatment after my husband died. Needing care did not erase my rights as a mother. The crime was not that I was grieving. The crime was using grief to imprison and discredit me.”
