Emily funded a team of investigative journalists to continue Rose’s work.
The team discovered that money intended for homeless children had financed luxury real estate and political donations for more than twenty years.
The reporting led to resignations, criminal investigations, and the recovery of another ninety million dollars.
The journalism center published every source document after protecting vulnerable witnesses.
Emily refused editorial control.
“My mother was killed because powerful people controlled where evidence could be seen.”

At the ceremony, the editor placed Rose’s name beside the reporters’.
Emily accepted only as her daughter.
“She did not get to finish the story,” Emily said. “Other people did because she hid the first pages.”
A former Whitmore employee approached afterward.
He had been a junior accountant on the night Rose confronted Edward. He admitted deleting a transaction record after Victoria threatened his family.
“Why tell me now?” Emily asked.
“Because I watched the ring fall. I realized the evidence survived all of us.”
He provided files confirming that Rose had planned to expose not only theft but the deliberate closure of shelters located on valuable land.
Those properties were restored through court settlements.
One became a residence for young mothers and infants.
Emily visited on the opening day.
A woman held a sleeping baby near the window.
For a moment, Emily imagined Rose carrying her away from danger, believing she still had time.
