Maya read the entire letter with her attorney.
Evelyn provided account numbers and named two officials who helped close the original investigation.
The information led to restitution and professional discipline.
She asked Maya to visit.
Maya did not.
Truth offered after conviction could still help.
It did not create access.
News outlets called the letter an apology.
Maya called it a confession.
The distinction mattered.

A confession establishes conduct.
Evelyn’s letter did the second.
Maya used its information without accepting the relationship it requested.
