Five years into prison, Vivian wrote to Victor.

Victor stopped reading.

Victor read the sentence aloud to Adrian.
Neither spoke for several minutes.

Some wanted deletion.
Others wanted restricted archives showing how coercive publicity worked.
There was no single correct response.
Control returned person by person.
