Serena Vale accepted a plea agreement.
She surrendered her shell-company assets, testified against Julian, and returned the merger deposit.
Her father removed her from the family business.
Publicly, Victor Vale described her as deceived.
Emails showed she designed part of the strategy.
Serena met Vivian during a restorative conference requested by employees.
“I wanted the merger,” Serena said. “I thought you were a woman Julian could not bring himself to dismiss.”
“He dismissed me.”
“Not completely. He kept you close.”
“As an employee.”
Serena looked down.
“I believed if he humiliated you publicly, it proved he had chosen me.”
Vivian understood the hunger without excusing the act.
Both women had allowed Julian’s attention to become a measure of value.
Serena admitted choosing the narrow gown, arranging the sofa, and inviting guests likely to remain silent.
She did not know the warrants would arrive.
She knew Vivian would be hurt.
After the conference, Serena entered financial compliance work under court supervision. Some organizations refused to employ her.
She accepted refusal.
Years later, she exposed a merger fraud at another firm and lost her job.
