Victor called the Whitmore board together before prosecutors could arrest him.
He proposed an emergency sale of the company’s most valuable urban properties to a foreign investment fund. The transaction would move assets beyond the family trust and leave Caroline’s sons with voting rights over an empty shell.
The sale required twelve votes.
Victor controlled eleven.
Caroline entered the boardroom with Maya, Lena, and two empty chairs.
Directors looked toward them.
“One is for Noah,” she said. “One is for Eli. Neither child will sit here while adults price their lives.”
Victor remained calm.
“You brought sentiment to a fiduciary meeting.”
“I brought the trust clause you spent eight years hiding.”
Maya distributed certified copies.
The clause transferred voting control to Caroline immediately upon legal confirmation of all biological children. The second DNA result had already activated it.
Victor challenged the document.
Then Keller’s confession appeared on the main screen.
The delivery footage followed.
One baby wore blue.
One wore green.
Victor’s expression did not change until David’s recording played.
If anything happens to me, Victor is not protecting Whitmore. He is protecting his ability to decide whose life counts.
Several directors shifted in their seats.
Caroline called for a vote to remove Victor.
He interrupted.
“You all benefited from my decisions. Do not pretend morality appeared this morning.”
The accusation was true.
Executives had ignored pension complaints, tenant evictions, foster contracts, and medical settlements because Victor delivered profits.
One director asked whether removing him would expose the company to criminal liability.
Caroline answered, “Yes.”
“Then shareholders will suffer.”
“So did children.”
Victor smiled faintly.
“You will burn the institution to feel innocent.”
“No. I will stop using the institution as proof we are innocent.”
The removal vote passed nine to three.
Federal agents entered before Victor reached the private elevator.
He looked at Caroline as handcuffs closed.
“You think those boys will thank you when this company collapses?”
Eli and Noah watched the live feed from Dana’s office.
Eli whispered, “He still thinks everything is the company.”
Noah answered, “Maybe that’s why he has nothing else.”
The two empty chairs remained in the boardroom after everyone left.
