The Jewelry Store Video

Chapter 07 - The Jewelry Store Video

A customer’s video from Delacroix went viral.

It showed Naomi cutting the black card while holding Lily. Ethan and Lenora stood before her, shocked and pleading.

Online captions turned the scene into revenge fantasy.

SHE PAID FOR THEIR WHOLE LIFE.

THE EX-WIFE WHO OWNED EVERYTHING.

MILLIONAIRE MOTHER-IN-LAW BROUGHT TO HER KNEES.

The truth was less satisfying.

Naomi did not enjoy watching Lenora panic. She felt grief for the years spent trying to earn affection from someone who had been spending her money while preparing to take her child.

The video also exposed Lily’s face.

Strangers created accounts using the toddler’s name.

One luxury brand offered Naomi a campaign called Cut the Card.

She refused.

A tabloid published the apartment building address.

Naomi and Lily moved temporarily to a secure residence.

Ethan’s attorneys then claimed Naomi hid the child to interfere with visitation.

He had not yet been convicted.

Family court required an independent custody review.

Naomi feared Project Lily would work despite exposure. The forged reports had entered multiple systems. Some still appeared as legitimate medical concerns.

Dr. Simon Vale testified that he had “professional reasons” to worry about Naomi’s postpartum stability.

Maya asked when he examined her.

He claimed two telehealth consultations.

Naomi had no memory of them.

The sessions occurred on dates she was in the hospital delivering Lily.

Video files existed.

They showed a dark-haired woman speaking from a shadowed room.

Facial analysis determined the woman was Camille Ross, Ethan’s executive assistant.

Camille had impersonated Naomi.

Under questioning, she admitted Ethan promised her partnership shares and a future relationship after divorce.

She participated in staged medical calls, redirected letters, and created the fake access order.

Camille agreed to cooperate.

Public opinion shifted again.

Naomi remained cautious.

People praised her as strong because she now had proof.

They had called her unstable before the proof appeared.

She told reporters once:

“A woman should not need to own the bank before a forged medical file is taken seriously.”

The sentence became more useful than the jewelry-store video.

Family court suspended Ethan’s visitation pending trial.

Naomi asked that future contact, if allowed, depend on Lily’s safety rather than Ethan’s public image.

The judge agreed.

At home, Lily found a toy credit card inside a play purse and snapped it in half after watching adults discuss the video.

Naomi felt sick.

She removed news coverage from the house.

Her daughter’s childhood would not become a reenactment of the divorce.
