Elias refused to perform the work. He said his hands had built enough beautiful objects around ugly secrets.
A team of younger jewelers repaired the setting under public observation. Every stone, tool, and custody transfer was recorded by two independent systems and witnessed by employees.
The yellow diamond returned to its center.
The necklace was not auctioned.
Selling it for charity after it had been used to steal charity money felt like another performance. Instead, the employee board placed it in the new Ward & Vale Accountability Archive.
Beside it stood the replica, Nora’s notebooks, and Mirror Three.
The display text did not describe Helena as the woman who exposed the plot.
It listed everyone’s role.
Sloane planted evidence.
Darren supplied it.
Conrad and Celia designed the scheme.
Elias concealed the first crime.
Helena accepted false evidence and later withheld the full extent of her doubt.
Nora documented the pattern.
Marisol preserved the record.
The archive became more popular than the jewelry exhibition.
Visitors lingered before the small black camera hidden in the antique mirror frame. Many expected a sophisticated device. It looked ordinary.
Marisol explained during tours that technology was not the moral center of the story.
“The camera had no courage,” she said. “It faced one direction and kept running.”
Six months after restructuring, the board held an election for chief executive.
Helena applied.

Her first decision was not dramatic.
