The company board offered Gabriel temporary leadership after Evelyn’s conviction.
He declined.
Directors argued that the public needed a stable Sterling face.
Gabriel answered that dependence on a family face was part of the problem.
Sterling Medical became a public-benefit healthcare network. Employees, physicians, patient advocates and community hospitals received board seats. The family trust retained financial value but no unilateral management power.
Claire supported the change.
She did not join the board.
Her role as Anna’s guardian remained separate from company governance.
Gabriel sold his luxury investment business and used part of the proceeds to fund an independent patient-advocacy office. He did not name it after Arthur or Claire.
The new board closed the private family ward where Vale manipulated records. The space became an independent capacity-assessment center for patients involved in guardianship disputes.
No family doctor could determine control over a trust without outside review.
The hospital retained the Sterling name temporarily while employees and communities considered alternatives.
Three properties voted to change it.
Others kept it because local workers had built their own history under the name.
