Mason’s trial began one year after the wedding.
Charges included pension fraud, unlawful confinement, attempted murder conspiracy, forgery, identity misuse, and attempted transfer of protected assets.
The prosecution opened with the livestream.
Jurors watched Victoria throw the phone.
Then they heard Mason through the conservatory window describing her as the future scapegoat.
Victoria testified for three days.
Mason’s attorney emphasized her ambition, spending, and signatures.
“You wanted Azure Coast.”
“I wanted the wedding held there.”
“You discussed turning it into a luxury brand.”
“Yes.”
“You called it our resort.”
“Yes.”
“You signed the purchase offer.”
“Yes.”
“So Mr. Carrington did not act alone.”
“No.”
The direct answer surprised the defense.
Victoria continued.
“I participated without understanding the pension guarantee. I ignored warnings because they interfered with what I wanted. Mason designed the fraud. I helped make it possible.”
The attorney asked whether she testified to avoid prison.
“Yes.”
“Then the jury should distrust you.”
“They should verify me against records.”
Alexandra testified about the trust.
Elena Ruiz testified about the yacht.
Claire appeared through a protected video link and described Mason’s visits to North Haven.
Mason took the stand.
He claimed Claire voluntarily remained hidden to avoid prosecution. Medical staff contradicted him. Coded doors and confiscated letters contradicted him.
The prosecutor asked why he never informed Alexandra.
“She was unstable.”
“Did you tell her Claire was alive?”
“No.”
“Then what evidence did you have of how she would respond?”
Mason’s control finally became visible as its own argument.
He believed he could decide other people’s reactions before giving them truth.
The jury convicted him on every major charge.
His sentence would keep him imprisoned for decades.
Victoria received probation, financial penalties, and a ban from directing trust-related companies due to cooperation and evidence of deception by Mason.
Some observers called the sentence too light.
Rosa agreed the system treated glamorous accomplices differently.
Victoria did not argue.
