After Mason’s final appeal failed, the court released the Blue Astra to the trust.
Alexandra had the legal right to wear it again.
She refused.
The sapphire entered the archive beside Elias Carrington’s charter.
Victoria visited once under supervised access.
She stood before the necklace she had believed proved transformation.
Without chandeliers and a wedding dress, it looked smaller.
A curator explained that the gemstone’s market value was high, but its mechanical setting and documented history mattered more.
Victoria asked whether the key still opened the archive.
“No. The security system changed.”
“Then it is only a symbol.”
The curator replied, “Symbols are rarely only anything.”
