A decade after Khemara Pass, Rebecca spoke to graduating cadets.
The academy invited her to discuss leadership. She instead discussed edited reports.
She described the lobby, the necklace, the deleted recording and the medical evaluation used to question her credibility. She admitted she had once trusted rank to correct wrongdoing automatically.
A cadet asked whether young officers should risk careers when evidence remained incomplete.
Rebecca answered that reckless accusation could harm innocent people, but silence was not caution when designed to protect authority.
“Preserve what you see. Find independent channels. Distinguish fact from suspicion. Then do not let fear rename certainty as confusion.”
Another cadet asked whether she hated Malcolm Voss.
Rebecca considered the question.
“I hate what he chose. I refuse to make him the center of everything Emily left.”
After the lecture, a young woman waited near the stage. Her brother had reported defective training equipment through the Northlight Project. The equipment was replaced before an accident occurred.
She thanked Rebecca.
Rebecca corrected her gently.
“Thank your brother, the mechanic who preserved the part and the investigator who listened.”
