Chloe asked to speak with Victoria privately.
Victoria refused.
“Anything you say is heard by counsel.”
Chloe nodded.
“I have copies of messages Ryan deleted from the company system.”
Ryan turned sharply.
Chloe continued before he could stop her.
“They show discussions with the buyer, the consulting fee, and instructions to create the medical narrative. I stored them with my personal attorney because Ryan started threatening me last week.”
Victoria felt no sympathy yet.
“Why did he threaten you?”
“Because I asked to delay the sale until after the wedding.”
Ryan laughed.
“You asked for more money.”
Chloe’s face flushed.
Victoria looked at Martin’s phone connection.
“Can her attorney deliver the files directly to forensic counsel?”
Martin answered, “Yes, with chain-of-custody documentation.”
Chloe nodded.
“I will authorize it.”
“What do you want?” Victoria asked.
Chloe looked at the clouds beyond the window.
“Consideration.”
Victoria respected the honesty more than tears.
“I will not promise immunity,” she said. “I will confirm your cooperation accurately.”
Chloe accepted with a small nod.
Ryan stared at her.
“We were supposed to leave together.”
Chloe looked at him with exhausted disbelief.

Victoria heard the sentence and understood the affair’s final truth.
