Ryan’s leather briefcase rested beneath his seat.
Chloe noticed Victoria looking.
She pushed the folder deeper with her shoe.
Victoria did not reach for the briefcase. A document notification appeared from the previous night.
Emergency Governance Review.
Victoria had not authorized it.
She opened the access history. Ryan’s executive credentials had uploaded the packet at 2:13 a.m. Chloe’s legal account had certified it at 2:19.
The packet described Victoria as medically impaired, transferred her authority to Ryan, and proposed a “time-sensitive strategic sale.”
Ryan had taken her private medical history and converted it into a weapon.
“You drafted an incapacity petition,” she said.
Chloe went pale.
Ryan looked toward the junior executives at the back.
“Those records are confidential.”
“They are forged.”
“No,” he said. “They are protective.”
Victoria stared at him.
“Protective of whom?”
