The Push

Chapter 01 - The Push
Emma Reed was still holding the blue nursery box when Lucas pushed her.
The box broke open, scattering baby clothes between the railings as she tumbled toward the floor.
Lucas stood at the top in a black T-shirt, staring down.
She landed on her side.
Pain tore across her stomach.
Emma curled around the life inside her and tried to breathe.
“My baby,” she gasped.
Her phone had fallen from the box and slid across the floor. Its camera faced upward. A red recording light remained visible on the screen.
Lucas saw it, and shock became fear.
He ran down the stairs, dropped beside Emma, and reached past her trembling hand.
Not for her.
For the phone.
Emma caught his wrist.
“Call an ambulance.”
Lucas tore free and grabbed the device.
On the screen, the video call was still connected.
A man’s voice came through the speaker.
“Lucas, I saw everything.”
May you like
Lucas slowly raised the phone.
Behind him, Victor and Caleb froze at the upstairs railing.
