Her company purchased fake engagement from overseas accounts, then charged the foundation for reaching an audience that did not exist. Miles created fraudulent invoices. Victor approved them.
In exchange, Bianca received luxury sponsorships and a percentage of every diverted payment.
Maya estimated the theft at twenty-three million dollars.
Nathan wanted immediate arrests.
Ruth insisted on proof strong enough to survive expensive lawyers.
“You built a company,” she reminded him. “You know the difference between knowing and proving.”
They needed a witness inside Bianca’s team.
Miles seemed most likely to turn, but he had disappeared.
His apartment was empty.
His phone had stopped near the river.
Bianca posted vacation photographs from Paris, though flight records showed she remained in the city.
