Miles was found at an interstate bus terminal using cash and a false name.
He refused to trust Nathan.
He trusted Ruth.
She arrived in her wheelchair wearing Evelyn’s coat.
Miles began crying before she spoke.
He confessed to changing Ruth’s badge, creating shell invoices, and helping Bianca hide payments. Victor controlled the money. Bianca controlled the narrative.
Miles had wanted to leave after discovering that Victor redirected funds from an emergency housing program. One woman died after waiting months for a room that existed only on paper.
Her name was Helen Marsh.
Ruth knew her.
Helen had written twice asking for help.
Both letters were marked resolved.
Miles handed over the real ledger.
Then he revealed why Bianca targeted Ruth at the gala.
Ruth had asked the finance director to bring Helen’s file.
Bianca believed the old woman had discovered everything.
Humiliating her was supposed to provoke Nathan into removing her from the event before she reached the stage.
