Graham’s mother, Rebecca Westmont, returned from Europe after the arrest.
She blamed Claire immediately.
She said Graham loved Victor and would never poison him. She called Daniel obsessive and Lily confused.
Then Ortiz showed her the complete footage.
Rebecca watched her son inject the cupcake.
She still searched for another explanation.
The investigator played a message sent after Daniel’s crash:
Graham: MERCER IS DONE. REMOVE THE BACKUP SYSTEM BEFORE GRANDFATHER FINDS IT.
Rebecca began crying.
Graham had told her Daniel died because he drove drunk.
She had repeated the claim publicly.
Now she faced a choice familiar throughout the family: protect the heir or protect the record.
Rebecca testified.
She disclosed that Graham once asked her to persuade Victor to sign medical proxy documents. She believed it was ordinary estate planning.
