Mara gave birth to a daughter eight months after the cemetery confrontation.
She and Adrian named her Ruth Elise Blackwood.
Victoria visited the hospital only after receiving permission.
She brought no heirloom jewelry and made no announcement about succession. She held the baby carefully and cried.
Mara watched without offering reassurance.
Victoria apologized again for the cemetery.
Mara said, “I believe you regret it.”
The sentence was not forgiveness.
It was honest progress.
Adrian and Mara created a trust for their daughter containing money but no automatic company votes. At adulthood, Ruth Elise could apply for board service under the same qualifications as other candidates.
Family members objected.
Adrian answered that a child should inherit security without being assigned power before developing judgment.
The wedding they had hidden was celebrated later in a small public ceremony at Saint Anne’s Rural Center. Thomas attended. Elena carried Ruth’s ring in a sealed evidence box until it entered the family archive.
Mara wore no white apron.
Victoria sat among clinic workers rather than in a reserved family section.
No press photographed the baby.
