Federal prosecutors returned Ruth’s ring after every appeal ended.

Adrian offered it to Victoria.

She refused.

“It stopped belonging to us when Ruth turned it into testimony.”

The ring entered the Blackwood Public Accountability Archive beside the memory chip, trust amendment and false clinic invoices.

Mara insisted the exhibit explain that evidence survived because several people acted: Ruth, Thomas, Graceful clinic employees, Adrian, investigators and household staff who preserved records.

No single hero.

No redeemed dynasty.

The second ring from the cemetery—Mara’s wedding band—remained on her hand. The scratches from the mud were never polished away.

Visitors often asked why both rings appeared in photographs but only one entered the archive.

The guide answered that one belonged to public history.

The other belonged to a marriage.
